LOTERIA DE PROGRAMA DE DIVERSIDAD DE VISA 2014

Proceso:

Tiene que ser en línea a través del internet en www.dvlottery.state.gov durante las fechas indicadas.    No se aceptaran solicitudes escritas por correo.

Solo debe hacer una solicitud.  Si radica más de una, quedará descalificado.

La solicitud de la Loteria es GRATIS.  No hay costos ni pagos especiales relacionados al proceso de registro.

Cualificaciones:

1.      Tiene que ser nativo de un país en el listado de la Lotería de Visas 2014.  Los ciudadanos de los siguientes países NO serán considerados en esta lotería:  BANGLADESH, BRAZIL, CANADA, CHINA (mainland), COLOMBIA, REPUBLICA DOMINICANA, ECUADOR, EL SALVADOR, HAITI, INDIA, JAMAICA, MEXICO, PAKISTAN, PERU, PHILIPPINES, SOUTH KOREA, UNITED KINGDOM (excepto Irlanda del Norte) and y sus territories dependientes, y VIETNAM.

2.      Tiene que cumplir con educación y experiencia mínima.  Educación: escuela superior ó 12 años de escuela elemental y secundaria.  O dos años de experiencia de trabajo en posición que requiera 2 años de entrenamiento mínimo.  Para más información sobre los criterios de educación y experiencia, favor de ir a www.dvlottery.state.gov.

Procedimiento:

·         Someter el formulario E-DV en línea.  El formulario es el DS -5501 y lo accesa directamente en www.dvlottery.state.gov.

·         Someter una fotografía de manera electrónica con el formulario.  Debe incluir una foto para cada uno de los miembros de su familia incluido en la solicitud.  Si no somete todas las fotos, la solicitud queda incompleta y no se acepta.

Solo UNA SOLICITUD por persona.  Será descalificado si hay más de una solicitud a su nombre.

NO hay costos y pagos por hacer el registro. 

Después de completar el proceso exitosamente, recibirá un número de confirmación.  Guarde cuidadosamente este número.  Será la única manera de cotejar si su solicitud fue seleccionada en la lotería.  Puede cotejar a partir del 1ro de mayo de 2013 en  www.dvlottery.state.gov

El proceso y los criterios son sencillos, pero se aplican estrictamente.  Siga las instrucciones con atención.

IMPORTANTE: Tiene que incluir a su cónyuge e hijos solteros menores de 21 años, aun cuando no vivan juntos y/o no tengan planes de acompañarlo a Estados Unidos.  No será necesario incluir al cónyuge o hijos si éstos ya son residentes permanentes o ciudadanos  de Estados Unidos.

Su cónyuge e hijos mayores de 18 años pueden hacer sus solicitudes aparte, siempre y cuando incluyan la información y fotos individuales requeridas.

REQUISITOS DE FOTOS:

La foto tiene que ser digital y tiene que estar registrada por vía electrónica con la solicitud.  La imagen tiene que cumplir con los criterios de tamaño, color, fondo, etc.  El formato tiene que ser JPEG, con una imagen con un tamaño máximo de 240 KB y dimensiones mínimas de 600 pixels x 600 pixels.

Le recomiendo que, antes de comenzar a rellenar los datos en el formulario, debe validar su foto en la página de internet mencionada para asegurar que cumple con los criterios.

PROCESO DE SELECCIÓN:

Las visas serán otorgadas por región y la selección de las 50,000 visas es efectuada al azar por la computadora  entre todas las solicitudes cualificadas.

Puede cotejar si fue seleccionado en la página de internet www.dvlottery.state.gov a partir del 1ro de mayo de 2013.  Tiene que tener su número de confirmación para cotejar.  Sin este número será imposible saber si fue seleccionado o no.  NO se enviarán carta ni correo electrónico sobre la selección.

Las Visas DV-2014 serán otorgadas entre el 1ro de octubre 2013 al 30 de septiembre 2014.

Tenga cuidado con estafas y fraude.  NO recibirá ningún correo electrónico ni carta sobre los resultados.  NO tendrá que enviar dinero por correo, o por tarjeta de crédito o Western Union para el proceso.  Los pagos de las visas se hacen EN PERSONA  cuando sea citado al Consulado de USA para la cita.  Esté alerta!

2014 DIVERSITY IMMIGRATION LOTTERY

PROCESS:
Must register ONLINE at www.dvlottery.state.gov during the specified dates.
No paper applications will be accepted.

Only ONE application per person. Multiple filings will disqualify you.

There are no fees or costs to file for the lottery. It is FREE to file the application.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must be a native of a qualifying country. The following countries are NOT eligible for this Lottery: BANGLADESH, BRAZIL, CANADA, CHINA (mainland-born), COLOMBIA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, ECUADOR, EL SALVADOR, HAITI, INDIA, JAMAICA, MEXICO, PAKISTAN, PERU, PHILIPPINES, SOUTH KOREA, UNITED KINGDOM (except Northern Ireland) and its dependent territories, and VIETNAM.

2. Must meet minimum education or experience requirement: high school graduation or equivalent [12 year elementary + secondary education] OR 2 years of work experience in the last 5 years in a job requiring at least 2 years of training. PROCEDURE:

• Submit the completed E-DV form online [Form DS-5501]

• Submit a photograph electronically for the applicant and each family members included in the application. Failure to submit photos of spouse or children under 21 included in the application will result in an incomplete submission.

ONLY ONE entry per person. You will be disqualified if more than one entry is received.

There are NO COSTS or Fees to register. Anyone can prepare the form online, BUT make sure there is only one Lottery application filed on your behalf. More than one application will automatically disqualify you

After registering successfully online, you MUST receive a Confirmation number. If you do not receive this confirmation page with the unique number after submission, you are not registered. Print and keep this page. You will use to the number to check the status of the DV application starting May 1, 2013 on the website www.dvlottery.state.gov

The only way to check the status is with the confirmation number. Keep it secure. You cannot get the number at a later date. The only way to check if you were selected is online on the official website.

You will NOT get an email or any other notification from the government concerning the results of the Lottery. Be alert for scams and con artists that may send an “official-looking” message requesting that you send money to activate your selection in the Lottery. Do not fall for this!!!!

The process and requirements are simple, but strict. Please follow all online instructions carefully.

IMPORTANT: You must include your spouse and unmarried children under 21 years of age even if they do not live with you and might not intend to accompany you to the U.S. You do not need to include spouse or children if they are already permanent residents or citizens of the U.S.

Your spouse and children over 18 can also file their own application and must list all family members and include photos, if they qualify.

PHOTO REQUIREMENTS:
The photo must be digital and submitted electronically with the application. The image must comply with the specifications concerning size, color, background, etc. Photo must be individual photos on JPEG format, maximum image file size is 240 kilobytes (240 KB) and minimum acceptable dimensions are 600 pixels (width) x 600 pixels (height). You can validate your photo online to make sure it meets the requirements. It is highly recommended that you submit the process of the photo validation prior to filling out the online form.

SELECTION PROCESS:
Based on the allocation of visas in each region, the computer will randomly select 50,000 individuals from the qualified entries.

You can check if you were selected at www.dvlottery.state.gov after May 1, 2013. You must have your confirmation number from the initial application. Without this number, you cannot check the status and cannot proceed to the visa process, if selected. There will be NO letters or emails confirming selection.

DV-2014 visas will be issued between October 1, 2013 and September 30, 2014.

Be aware of fraud and scams by knowing that you WILL NOT BE NOTIFIED BY EMAIL OR MAIL of the selection results. You will not have to send any payments by mail, credit card or Western Union. Payment of the visa will be done IN PERSON at the U.S. Embassy, at the time of the appointment.
